Beta, Delta and Zeta rayon threads were designed to be used primarily for Brazilian or Bullion embroidery.  However, with the high sheen of the rayon, they are perfect accents for cross stitch, needlepoint, hardanger, crazy quilting, the base embroidery for silk ribbon motifs and numerous other types of handwork.  These are “z” twist threads as opposed to the traditional “s” twist of most embroidery and sewing threads.  The trick in using them is to use shorter pieces (no more than 12”) and a needle with a wide enough shaft to puncture through a woven fabric so as to create less “drag” of abrasion on the thread as it goes through the fabric.  These threads are colorfast.  DO NOT spray them with water before using as this will cause them to kink up.  They will not straighten out again.
